Job Description
The Video Editor at Techland is a creative storyteller and hands-on craft specialist responsible for transforming concepts into industry-leading, emotionally engaging, visually striking trailers, teasers and other video marketing assets. In this role, you’ll be a self-sufficient filmmaker and editor who owns the full video production process—from concept and in-engine capture to final edit—combining cinematics, gameplay, sound, and pacing into compelling stories that define how players experience and remember our games.
Working closely with Creative Services, Marketing, and Production teams, you will combine cinematic storytelling, technical expertise, and production discipline to deliver world-class content across multiple platforms.
Your daily tasks:
- Owning the full video production pipeline: from concept development and storyboarding through capture, editing, sound design, and final delivery.
- Capturing and directing high-quality in-engine gameplay and cinematic footage, including staging shots and camera work.
- Editing trailers, teasers, gameplay videos, and campaign assets with a strong sense of pacing, emotion, and narrative flow.
- Designing and integrating sound and music to enhance storytelling and player immersion
- Applying color grading, motion graphics, and visual effects to elevate final output.
- Collaborating with Art Director, Marketing, Brand, and Product teams to interpret creative briefs and define video direction.
- Contributing creative ideas to marketing campaigns and key beats.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality standards.
- Working with external vendors when needed, ensuring creative alignment and quality control
- Optimizing video assets for different platforms and formats (e.g. social media, digital stores, 4K delivery).
- Continuously improving workflows, tools, and asset management practices
- Keeping up with industry trends and emerging tools, continually pushing creative boundaries in capture and post-production.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in video editing and cinematic production, ideally in gaming, film, or entertainment.
- Mastery of industry-standard editing and compositing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and related tools.
- Strong understanding of cinematic storytelling, pacing, visual composition, lighting, and emotional rhythm.
- Proficiency with real-time game engines (e.g. Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary) for capture and camera work.
- Solid skills in sound design and audio editing, with the ability to layer, mix, and synchronize sound and music to picture.
- Experience delivering high-quality trailers or video content from concept to final output.
- Ability to translate creative briefs into compelling visual narratives.
- Strong attention to detail combined with creative problem-solving.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the full creative process.
- Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to take feedback and iterate quickly.
- Very good command of English.
Nice to have:
- Experience with motion capture or directing simple performance capture sessions.
- Knowledge of motion graphics, compositing, and VFX workflows.
- Familiarity with animation workflows and cinematic sequencing tools such as Sequencer (Unreal Engine), Timeline (Unity), or similar systems.
- Experience with outsourcing and vendor collaboration.
- Background in live-action or hybrid live / CG video production.
