Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and creative Lead Level Designer to inspire our team to create unforgettable experiences for players. Join us to help shape the future of our games.
Project: Dying Light franchise and related projects (not officially announced yet).
Your daily tasks:
Lead one of teams of Level Designers to deliver high-quality levels that support the creative pillars of the game.
Ensure your Level Design team understands the vision and design of the game by conducting regular reviews and providing feedback to meet the required quality standards.
Support feedback flow from other disciplines, the Game Director, and User Research teams.
Collaborate closely with other departments, understanding their roles and building positive relationships to ensure their involvement in the design process.
Establish best practices in level design and improve the workflow within the Level Design team.
Ensure team members follow agreed development practices and maintain stability and quality throughout development.
Work with production teams to verify task estimates and ensure the team delivers on time with the appropriate quality.
Oversee, mentor, and coach designers while actively participating in their professional development, including annual appraisals and goal setting.
Promote a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and respect.
Identify key staffing needs for your team and actively participate in the recruitment process.
But you will also become a specialist in what your team does, working with them side by side in the editor. You have to be the best specialist, not just a Line Manager. And we will help you with that.
Qualifications
Experience in game creation (at least 5 years of experience or one published AAA project) as a Senior Level Designer/Lead Level Designer.
Knowledge of tools - Level Design work environment as one of several game engines.
Broad knowledge of all aspects of game and level design, with a focus on layout, architectural composition, combat and encounter design, balancing, flow, difficulty, progression, and usability.
Ability to describe approaches that create engaging and fun levels.
A passion for creating games that are both engaging and accessible, with a focus on action.
Experience in leading a team and maintaining positive relationships.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Strong understanding of level structure and game design theory.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Good knowledge of English.
Nice to have:
Basic knowledge of architecture.
Artistic skills (drawing, painting, modeling, etc.).
