Job Description

  • Maintaining an active, visible presence across community platforms (e.g. Reddit, Discord, social media) by participating in daily conversations, replying to players, asking follow-up questions, and keeping discussions alive.
  • Monitoring community conversations and sentiment to identify trends, or issues, while supporting community health by maintaining a welcoming environment and escalating concerns with clear context when needed.
  • Driving community engagement through initiative and creativity, including proposing ideas for community contests, activities, and smaller-scale engagement initiatives, and helping shape concepts into executable formats.
  • Creating and publishing engagement-driven social media posts by proposing creative ideas, preparing simple assets or copy, and turning community moments, updates, and ongoing activities into clear, shareable content.
  • Driving and amplifying user-generated content by encouraging players to create and share, identifying and surfacing strong community creations, and supporting their visibility across community and social platforms in alignment with ongoing events, trends, and activations.
  • Preparing, publishing, and maintaining clear player-facing communication related to live updates, patches, hotfixes, events, and known issues across official community and platform hubs, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency with development reality.
  • Maintaining a deep and up-to-date understanding of the game and its development, tracking ongoing and upcoming changes, and acting as a reliable knowledge hub to ensure player-facing communication accurately reflects development reality and player impact.
  • Collaborating with development, publishing, and other teams across different seniority levels, sharing relevant community insights, issues, and sentiment.

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in community management and social media within the video game industry, with an understanding of how player communities function and evolve.
  • Familiarity with social media and community platforms (e.g. Reddit, Discord, Instagram, Facebook, X), and an understanding of how engagement differs across them.
  • Basic understanding of live game environments and player communication (updates, patches, events), combined with a solid player perspective and curiosity about how games are built, updated, and supported live.
  • Good written English skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, naturally, and appropriately with players across different platforms.
  • Ability to observe, organize, and summarize information, translating fast-moving discussions, updates, or changes into clear, player-readable messages, insights, or actionable notes.
  • Comfort working in a hands-on, execution-focused role that involves daily interaction, fast context switching, and reactive tasks across multiple platforms and tools.

Interpersonal skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a friendly and approachable attitude that helps build trust and positive relationships with both players and internal teams.
  • High level of reliability, ownership, and follow-through in day-to-day operational tasks, combined with a proactive mindset and willingness to take initiative while maintaining consistency, accuracy, and clear communication.
  • Genuine curiosity and passion for games and player communities, combined with an interest in how games are designed, built, and evolved over time, and a strong desire to learn, improve, and deepen product knowledge.
  • Good listening, observation, and synthesis skills, enabling the ability to distill complex or fast-moving community feedback into clear, concise points tailored to different audiences and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to quickly switch context and respond effectively to changing priorities, live situations, and evolving community or development needs.

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience with community-related work or activities (e.g. moderation, fan communities, student projects, personal initiatives).
  • A portfolio or examples of previous community-related initiatives, personal projects, or engagement activities (e.g. community posts, campaigns, events, creative contributions, or active participation in fan communities), demonstrating hands-on involvement in online communities.
  • Basic ability to prepare simple visual assets for social or community use (screenshots, short clips, lightweight visuals).
  • Experience using social media publishing or scheduling tools, with basic familiarity with analytics or performance tracking.
